Allerona is a town of ancient origin in the province of Terni, located on a hill 472 meters high.
The first settlements in the area date back to Etruscan times, while the first documented presence is related to the Roman civilization: traces have been found along the ancient Via Cassia. Allerona in the Middle Ages was an important feudal castle; today visitors can still see remains of the ancient castle walls and two gates, called
The Sun and
The Moon, as well as the urban structure. The town is situated in the so called "blessed triangle" amid the beautiful natural landscapes of Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany.
