Città della Pieve is a city in the province of Perugia, which is situated on a hill overlooking the Valdichiana and Trasimeno lake, between Umbria and Tuscany. From the city you can admire one of the most spectacular views in Umbria: to the south, the Cimino mountain; to the South-East, the Peglia and the Sibillini mountains; to the East, the Montarale, the Nestor valley and the Subasio mountain; to the North, the hills surrounding the Trasimeno lake and, beyond the Valdichiana, the Casentino mountains; to the west, the Amiata and Cetona mountains. This extraordinary scene reminds the landscapes painted by Pietro Vannucci, known as
Il Perugino, one of the most important painters of the Italian Renaissance and teacher of Raffaello as well.
